Personal & Self-Employed Tax Preparation (T1)

BKInk prepares T1 personal tax returns for Ontario individuals — including self-employed and sole-proprietor returns where business income, expenses, and HST come into play. If you run your own business, you get a preparer who already understands the bookkeeping behind your numbers.

Authorized by the CRA to file returns electronically (EFILE).

Who This Is For

  • Self-employed and sole proprietors — business income and expenses (T2125), home-office and vehicle costs, and HST considerations handled correctly.
  • Individuals with a side business — keeping personal and business clearly separated so your return is accurate and defensible.
  • Employed individuals with straightforward returns who want it done right and filed electronically.

We prepare T1 returns within our authorized role as a CRA EFILE provider. We are not a CPA firm and do not provide audit, review, assurance, or regulated tax-planning advice.

The Self-Employed Advantage: Books + Return Together

For self-employed clients, the return is only as good as the records behind it. BKInk can keep your books accurate all year through bookkeeping for the self-employed and then prepare your T1 from those same records — so your business income, expenses, and HST are already organized when filing season arrives.

That pairing — clean self-employed bookkeeping plus your personal return — is one of the most valuable things we do, because it turns spring from a shoebox scramble into a quick, accurate filing.

How T1 Pricing Works

T1 preparation is priced per return, by tier: a simple employed return is the lowest tier, starting from $120; self-employed and sole-proprietor (T2125) returns start from $150, and returns with HST, rental, or investment income sit higher because there is more to prepare. We show an illustrative “from” starting point and confirm your exact price up front — transparent, with no surprises.

New clients: 50% off your first T1 or T2 tax preparation engagement with BKInk — offer ends November 20, 2026. Prices shown do not include HST.

Self-employed clients can pair their T1 with self-employed bookkeeping as a bundle. See the Pricing page for details.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can you handle my self-employment income and expenses? Yes. Self-employed and sole-proprietor returns are a core part of what we do, including the business statement (T2125), eligible expenses, and HST where it applies.

2. I’m behind on my self-employed bookkeeping. Can you still file my T1? Yes — we’ll get your business records organized first so your return is accurate, then file it. Doing the bookkeeping and the return together is faster and cheaper than scrambling at the deadline.

3. Are you a CPA or tax advisor? No. BKInk is a bookkeeping practice and Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, authorized by the CRA to file returns electronically (EFILE). We prepare T1 returns within that authorized role and refer regulated tax-planning or assurance work to a CPA.
