Terms of Use

Effective date: June 27, 2026  Last updated: June 27, 2026

Welcome to the BKInk Bookkeeping website. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of bkinkbookkeeping.ca (the “Site”), operated by BKInk Bookkeeping (“BKInk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Informational Purpose Only

The content on this Site — including pages about our services, industry and location pages, blog articles, and free guides and checklists — is provided for general informational purposes only. It is intended to help Ontario business owners understand bookkeeping concepts and how we work. While we aim to keep the content accurate and current, bookkeeping practices, tax rates, thresholds, and regulatory requirements change, and the information may not apply to your specific situation.

You should not rely on the Site as the sole basis for any business, financial, or compliance decision.

2. Not Professional, Legal, or Tax Advice

Nothing on this Site constitutes accounting, tax, or legal advice, and using the Site does not create a professional or advisory relationship. Our guides, articles, and service descriptions are educational. For advice specific to your circumstances — including tax matters, Canada Revenue Agency obligations, and any legal or regulatory questions (such as law-society trust-account compliance) — you should consult an appropriately qualified professional, such as a CPA, tax advisor, or lawyer, and you remain responsible for your own compliance obligations.

3. No Engagement Until Formally Agreed

Contacting us, booking a free consultation, or downloading a resource does not create a bookkeeping engagement or any obligation on either side. We provide bookkeeping services only under a separate, mutually agreed engagement that defines the scope, fees, and responsibilities of the work. Any pricing shown on the Site is illustrative and for general guidance only; it is not a binding quote. A working relationship begins only once both parties have agreed to the terms of an engagement.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including text, guides, checklists, graphics, diagrams, logos, and the BKInk name and branding — is owned by BKInk Bookkeeping or used with permission and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view the Site and download or print our free guides for your own personal or internal business use. You may not copy, republish, redistribute, sell, or use our content for commercial purposes, or remove any copyright or attribution notices, without our prior written permission.

“QuickBooks” and “QuickBooks Online” are trademarks of Intuit Inc. and are used on this Site for identification and descriptive purposes only. BKInk is an independent bookkeeping service and is not Intuit. Other product or company names referenced are the property of their respective owners.

5. Acceptable Use

When using the Site, you agree not to:

  • use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
  • submit false, misleading, or another person’s information through our forms;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, or disrupt the Site, its hosting, or its security features;
  • introduce malware, spam, or automated scraping, or otherwise misuse our forms; or
  • copy or exploit Site content except as permitted in Section 4.

We may restrict or refuse access to anyone who misuses the Site.

6. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites (for example, the Canada Revenue Agency, Intuit, or a social media profile). We provide these links for convenience only and do not control or endorse those sites. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BKInk Bookkeeping will not be liable for any loss or damage — including indirect, incidental, or consequential loss — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or any reliance on its content. Your use of the Site is at your own risk. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

This limitation applies to the Site only. Services we provide under a separate engagement are governed by the terms of that engagement.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle the information you provide. Please review it to understand our practices.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute relating to the Site or these Terms is subject to the courts of Ontario.
